| Plainfield Board Returns Thousand Oaks Project to Planning Commission
In a unanimous vote, the Plainfield Township Board returned a proposed change to Thousand Oaks residential development for further review.
The developer, Watermark Group LLC, had requested to add two pools, a fitness center and 10 condo units to its property at 4611 Grand River Drive NE, which was a change from the 25 condo units that had been approved in May 2017.
More than two-dozen residents attended Monday night’s public hearing at the Township Board meeting, with nearly a dozen sharing their concerns over traffic and appropriate usage with the Board. A few expressed support for the addition of outdoor pools and fitness center in exchange for building fewer condo units.
During its June 19 meeting, the Planning Commission had recommended the Township Board deny the project. Monday’s vote by the board sends the project, which has been revised three times in the past three years, back to Planning Commission for further discussion of new information provided by the developer. |
